Doctor Puppet

This new book from Russia (in English) can be down-loaded free by clicking on the weblink in the right hand column. If you are copying the link note that the is no www.

It is written by Alexander Gref, artistic director of the puppet theatre The Vagrant Booth and Larissa Sokolova, psychologist, actor and musician of the same theatre.
It describes a program, called Doctor-Puppet, concerning psychological help to children with oncological diseases being in hospital or hospice. The program was elaborated by The Vagrant Booths collaborators and was implemented from May, 1995, to May, 1997, in the hematologic department of the Morozovs childrens clinical hospital of Moscow; and also from September, 1999, in the First Hospice for Children with Oncological diseases of Moscow, and from September, 2002, in onco-hematologiacal department of Russian Childrens Clinical Hospital.

There are 34 A4 pages, including an illustration of a bunraku-type figure used as the puppet doctor.
The website itself is in Russian; scroll down to the bottom and in English you will find the WORD document to download.

In the light of the recent terrible news from Russia, I fear they
will need many Doctor Puppets.
