Shadow theatre specialists, though some of our shows use Indonesian Wayang Golek and Indian kathputli in a contemporary way. We work a lot with Contemporary shadow theatre and can refer to traditional shadows in workshops when applicable.
Shows tour established venues on the touring circuit, or schools and village halls. Workshop credits include the Barbican, Theatre Museum, V&A and many more. Higher level training caters for teachers, artists and higher education students.
Blackout is either crucial or preferable for our theatre shows(depending on the show), except for Saraswati, the dancing marionette from Rajasthan, which we can set up quickly wherever there is no wind or rain, and is easily transportable.
Ideally family or schools audiences suit our theatre shows, age 4 or 5+. Puppet demonstrations can be available for under fives. Workshops can be tailored to most levels.
Puppet-making prototypes offer accessible ideas for the classroom. Shadow puppet workshops, rod-puppet workshops, Indonesian puppets and Indian puppets. Original music composition service for puppetry (amongst other things) also available.
We offer training for groups, on puppetry in education and contemporary shadow theatre techniques, or basic puppetry skills including traditional puppet operation, with possible links to information of relevant traditions.
